There have been quite a few events in my professional life in the last several months. I graduated from residency in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health from Walter Reed Army Institute of Research on June 29, 2012 and immediately reported for duty as the Battalion Medical Officer for the 82nd Civil Affairs Battalion in Ft. Stewart, GA (outside Savannah). Since then, I have passed my board certification exam as well as completed the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene's Certificate of Knowledge in Clinical Tropical Medicine and Traveler's Health program (CTropMed®). I will be traveling to the Democratic Republic of the Congo in March as part of my official duties and am looking forward to more adventures.
