New Job

Posted By Joseph Gaither, Monday, June 30, 2008
Joe Gaither (Hiram alum '07) recently was hired as the Assistant Band Director at James A. Garfield School District in Garrettsville, Ohio. He will serve as the Intermediate School Head Band Director, teaching instrumental (band) music to grades 5-6 and general music. He will also direct and assist with the high school concert, marching, and pep bands. Since graduating from Hiram, he's worked in Solon as a music teacher at Dorothy E. Lewis Elementary School and at Cleveland Heights-University Heights School District as a long term band director at Monticello Middle School teaching band and orchestra. "I am excited about the new job and am eager to bring my knowledge of technology into the music classroom" says Joe. One of his main goals in this new position is to grow the program and to continue improving on his students' musical abilities.
