Student Scholars from Hiram College's Garfield Institute for Public Leadership invite alumni and friends in the Washington, D.C. area to join them for a very special event in Congress. 

 "American Democracy and Budgetary Responsibility"

Alice Mitchell Rivlin is an economist, a former U.S. Cabinet official, and an expert on the budget. She has served as the Vice Chairman of the Federal Reserve, the Director of the White House Office of Management & Budget, and the first Director of the Congressional Budget Office.  In 2010, Rivlin was appointed by President Obama to his National Commission on Fiscal Responsibility & Reform.

The Garfield Institute for Public Leadership prepares students to assume the responsibilities of public leadership by developing expertise in matters of public policy, foreign and domestic, grounded in Hiram's traditional liberal arts education.
