Roger G. Baldwin '69

Roger Baldwin was honored by his alma mater, Hiram College, in recognition of his notable career in higher education and his continued involvement with the College. The Alumni Achievement Award was presented to Baldwin during ceremonies held in June of 1993.

A professor of English at the College of William and Mary, Baldwin earned his M.A. from Cornell University after leaving Hiram and a Ph.D. from the University of Michigan. He completed a two-year Research Fellowship at the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C.

Baldwin served as a member of the Hiram College Alumni Executive Board from 1986-89, and as Board President from 1989-91. He was also the chairman of the Association for Study of Higher Education and a member of the American Association for Higher Education.

Dr. Baldwin has dedicated his career to the improvement of higher education as an educator, providing research and writing many publications on various aspects of the subject. He has been very interested and actively involved in Hiram College activities as well.
