Norma (Larsen) Fisher '45
After graduating from Hiram in 1945, Norma followed the love of her life, Frank Fisher '43, to Philadelphia and then to New York during the early years of his banking career. Norma Larsen Fisher was able to reconnect with her alma mater when Frank returned to Cleveland and the banking industry in the mid-1960's.
Norma's volunteer roles have included membership on the Alumni Executive Board, two terms as president for the Women's Council and chair of numerous committees for the Women's Council. Norma was one of the original founders and driving forces of the Friends of the Library. This annual support group has now grown to over 400 members.

Mrs. Fisher is always one of the key leaders in assisting the group with reunion planning for her Class of 1945. She has been an active partner and participant in College activities for over 40 years; entertaining College guests and always helping to give trustees or College-related activities a warmth and friendliness.

Norma is the kind of volunteer who does what she says she will do and does it with competency, creativity, and cheerfulness. Norma Larsen Fisher is indeed a tireless and devoted friend to her alma mater and richly deserving of the title “Volunteer of the Year.”
