|Paula (Alexander) Fulmer '52|
Paula (Alexander) Fulmer has always been involved, one way or another, in helping those who need it.
After graduating from Hiram, Paula went on to earn an M.A. in Speech Pathology at Kent State University and later she returned to her studies to earn an elementary school certification so she could tutor children in Europe.
Paula has been involved with Girl Scouting for the past 53 years, starting as a Brownie, moving on to become a trainer and then coordinating Vice President of the Western Reserve Girl Scout Council. She has done volunteer work in various programs at the University of Akron, been a board member of the Hosting International Travelers Group and started a group in 1977 called Mothers and Others to help wives and children of international students with problems in a different culture.
Paula has traveled extensively throughout China, showing the Chinese people that Americans are not so different after all. Paula completed a three-year term on the Hiram College Executive Board and is now the recipient of the Lifelong Leadership Award.
