|Richard J. Sargent|
Richard J. Sargent graduated from Hiram College in 1933 with a major in Economics and History. Richard joined Westinghouse Electric Corporation in 1936. He started off serving in areas of factory, sales, and merchandising and then moved up to General Manager in the major appliance division in 1952.
In 1959, he was named Vice President and General Manager of the newly created portable appliance division. In 1962, he left Westinghouse when he became Vice President of the American Machine and Foundry Company. In 1967, he returned to Westinghouse as President of the Westinghouse Appliance Sales and Service Company in Pittsburgh, where he headed the distribution and sales organization for the company's major appliances, television and stereo.
Richard spent much of his life climbing the career ladder at Westinghouse Electric Corporation. His accomplishments during his successful career earned him Hiram College's 1968 Alumni Achievement Award.
