Paul graduated from Hiram College with a few key passions that would take him far in life – chemistry and math, leadership, travel and singing. Today, as a leader in the field of energy, Paul – literally – travels around the globe managing major nuclear, conventional, and solar power-generating projects from Texas to Shanghai, and believe it or not, when he has a free moment, he still enjoys singing. Just as he did in Hiram's Choir, Madrigals, and even a barbershop quartet.
Paul has experienced much success since his days at Hiram. While a naval officer, he proudly served 14 years as a nuclear engineer working aboard submarines. He left the Navy as a Lieutenant Commander and began an impressive career in project and operational management for some of the world's most respected and well-known energy suppliers. In addition to his "day job," Paul is working towards a doctoral degree in management and is teaching undergraduate and graduate-level classes in business for the University of Phoenix.
What's remarkable about Paul's success is that, despite his international travel schedule and impressive resume (to say the least!), he manages to commit time to Hiram College as an alumni volunteer. Paul currently serves as chair of Hiram's board of visitors. He transitioned into this role from initially serving on the alumni executive board, reunion committee and veteran's advisory board. Additionally, Paul participated in the "Education That Works" program and generously supports the Hiram Fund and math/sciences departments. In 2011, Paul was unanimously selected to hold the two-year term as chair of the board of visitors.
His unique career experience is invaluable, and we look to Paul for vital counsel on business and technology as Hiram continues to undertake new and exciting challenges for growth.
