Hiram Softball spring training in Columbus, Georgia

If you live in the Atlanta area, here is your chance to see Hiram's own Terrier Softball team in action! The Terriers have been in Fort Myers, Florida for the Gene Cusic Classic and will now be traveling to Columbus, Georgia for the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division III Leadoff Classic. While there, the Terriers will play a total of three games. Come on out and show off your Hiram spirit as our Terries look towards another exciting season.

Hiram Night Out with President Chema in Charlotte, NC

Come out and meet other North Carolina Hiramites as President Chema visits Charlotte. Hiram alumni Steve and Pam (Enos) West '67/'67 will host a cocktail and hors d'oeuvre reception at the Charlotte City Club.

Hiram Night Out in Pittsburgh

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust welcomes alumni and friends of Hiram College for a private reception and gallery talk at the Wood Street Galleries. Enjoy beer and wine while curator Murray Horne provides us with a brief presentation about the exhibit, Miguel Chevalier's Power Pixels 2013. This spectacular exhibit features computer generated video projections that are ever-changing and never repeat.

37th Cleveland International Film Festival

Scavenger Hunt at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

Represent Hiram College at the Third Annual Cleveland Alumni Clubs Scavenger Hunt, sponsored by the Harvard Club of Northeast Ohio. A portion of the proceeds will help fund $500 college scholarships for Cleveland Metropolitan School District graduating seniors.

Hiram Night Out - Washington, D.C. with Garfield Institute

Student Scholars from Hiram College's Garfield Institute for Public Leadership invite alumni and friends to join them for a very special event in Congress. Dr. Alice Rivlin, an economist former U.S. Cabinet official and an expert on the budget, will present her talk "American Democracy and Budgetary Responsibility" which will be followed by a drink and hors d'oeuvres reception.

NEH Leader to Highlight Hiram Commencement

James Leach, Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, will be the speaker at commencement exercises at Hiram College on May 11, 2013.The ninth chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities, Leach was a Professor at the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University and Interim Director of the Institute of Politics and Lecturer at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, prior to his appointment to the NEH post by President Obama.

NEOMED and Hiram College Partner to Establish New Pathway Program for Future Physicians

In order to meet the ever-growing primary health care needs of the region, Northeast Ohio Medical University (NEOMED) and Hiram College have recently joined forces to establish the new NEOMED-Hiram College Baccalaureate to M.D. Pathway Program. The focus of the Pathway Program is strategically aligned with the mission of both institutions, including NEOMED's commitment to primary care, medically underserved populations and diversity in health care.

Adventures in Food, Wine, & History

Join tour leaders Daniela Melo and alumnus Dr. Tim Walker '86 on a trip through Portugal that will showcase the best of their cuisine and winemaking in various regions of the country. Visit Lisbon, one of Europe's oldest capitals and visit the rolling plains of the Alentejo for a series of surprises, including mysterious prehistoric standing stones and the walled city of Évora and a chapel lined with human bones. Creative Writing at Northwoods Field Station
July 7th – 16th, 2013

What better place to reflect, create, and write than the remote, rustic and stunningly beautiful Northwood's Field Station in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Workshop leaders and hosts include:

Donna Hunt '97 - Lecturer of Writing & Composition, City University of New York
Jen Hirt '97 - Assistant Professor of Creative Writing & English Composition, Penn State Harrisburg
Paul Cockeram '98 - Assistant Professor of English, Harrisburg Area Community College

Our hope is that through this trip you will write at least one publishable piece and will be provided with guidance on how to publish. Field trips include exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, sand dunes, and the Fayette settlement. Click HERE to find more information on this trip.

September 23rd – October 3rd, 2013

This trip begins in Istanbul, where for over 2,500 years east has met west. Highlights include the Grand Bazaar, Gallipoli, the Aegean Island of Bozcaada (Tenedos), Bergama (Pergamon), and Pammukkale (The Cotton Cliffs).
