Host a Trek to Showcase Community and Volunteerism

Terrier Treks is a new program built on the success of our annual Alumni Volunteer Day but with a slightly different twist. The Treks tie into Hiram’s new Tech and Trek initiative and will bring together alumni, students, faculty, staff, and prospective students for a day of community and volunteerism through a wider range of projects over the course of six weeks. The final “Trek Home” will be held on campus during Homecoming weekend on Oct. 21.

Please consider joining our Terrier Treks by hosting or attending one in your area! Questions? Check out our list of FAQs below to learn more.

Humans of Hiram

Marcus Bailey '17

Admission Counselor at Hiram College

Marcus came to Hiram from Oberlin, Ohio and prides himself on being a family man. He loves Hiram because from the moment he arrived on campus he was treated like a colleague not just a student. Faculty and staff became his mentors and now friends. After graduating in May, Marcus joined the Admission team. His goal is to help future students realize that Hiram is truly a unique and special place. (Pet peeve: ending sentences with prepositions)

In his spare time, Marcus keeps busy playing pickup basketball, Xbox and PlayStation. When asked to describe something funny or unique about himself, Marcus confessed he is a lover of all dogs. Whenever he sees a pup, he cannot walk by without petting it. In fact, he talks to his own pup like a human and admits she never does answer!
