Nominate a Classmate for an Alumni Award

For more than 40 years, Hiram College has recognized alumni who have dedicated themselves to making the world a better place. These alumni have come from a variety of backgrounds whether they have excelled in their professional field or made a notable contribution to the betterment of humanity. Others have quietly gone through life as an unsung hero involved with improving their community through volunteering or philanthropic endeavors.

Hiram College offers four awards each year. Have you been inspired by one of your fellow alumni? Do you know someone who should be recognized for his or her achievements? Then visit this LINK to read about the different awards and to complete the nomination form. Awards will be given during Alumni Weekend 2014 on June 16th. The deadline for nominations is January 15.

Hiram Adds Historic James A. Garfield Home to Campus

The Garfield family has a long history with Hiram College which is truly treasured by the College. In our continued effort to strengthen that relationship, Hiram recently purchased a home on the North side of campus that once belonged to James and Lucretia Garfield. Phebe Zimmerman, the owner of the historic home, will continue to live there for as long as she would like. Once Hiram takes possession, it will be named the Garfield Robbins Zimmerman House to honor the home’s previous owners. The home will be renovated and used to extend the work of both the Garfield Institute for Public Leadership and the Garfield Society. We are very excited to have this home; it is going to be a wonderful addition to the campus.

Tuition Freeze for 2014-2015 Academic Year

For the second consecutive year, Hiram College officials will not increase tuition for students entering the institution next fall.
Students entering Hiram for the 2014-2015 academic year will pay the same tuition as students who entered the institution in 2012. The decision to freeze tuition at 2011-2012 levels for entering students is coupled with Hiram’s long-standing Tuition Guarantee which ensures that once students are enrolled at Hiram, their tuition costs will not increase during their four years at the institution.
